As well as speakers, THE FIX 2025 featured a rich day of activities, including inspiring stories, expert workshops, product demonstrations, musical performances, art, a participant-led “unconference”, tours of the Harwell Science Campus, a startup pitch competition, speed networking, an evening party – the hottest event on campus… and much more!

Our 2025 schedule

By invitation.

Participants were guided through the festival, and got to explore the festival campus, with health-tech product demonstrations, bespoke networking opportunities, and more.

A lively, informed, engaging and tightly curated session of 10-minute keynote talks, from key figures in health-tech.

Your ticket included a lunch voucher, for a nutritious and tasty vegetarian picnic lunch. But we want you to make new friends, so we redeemed vouchers only when presented in groups of at least 4 (so that you got to meet fellow THE FIX participants!)

THE FIX‘s “unconference” sessions are driven entirely by you: over 40-minute sessions, participants run sessions that they’ve proposed, including workshops, discussions, talks, science demos, or whatever you’re excited by. This is our “open-source” part of the day, tapping into the knowledge, creativity and thoughtfulness of the crowd. In the morning, you can propose your session with a marker pen on a whiteboard which is divided into 40-minute slots in 8 locations on the festival site. You can then pitch for an audience from the main stage before lunch. Surprise us! AND Hear real-world challenges from NHS leaders, then team up with fellow innovators to design, shape, and pitch bold solutions. This is your chance to spark real change, improving patient care, reducing costs, and building collaborations that deliver impact beyond the day. AND TechBio Quest, led by Zoe Peden – the ultimate game show pitting two brainiac teams against each other in a battle of intellect, wit and TechBio wisdom. If Never mind the Buzzcocks and QI had a science baby. Prepare to be an engaged audience, pick up a thing or two for TechBio trivial pursuit nights and exit with a big smile on your face!

Learn from leading experts and practitioners in the field and leave with fresh insights and experiences that will engage the body and mind.

You had a choice this hour: Be a dragon and evaluate five-minute pitches from 10 selected health-tech startups that are currently fundraising. AND our Six-Minute Ideas sessions, where festival-goers got a short moment to share an idea, experience, recommendation, provocation in a quick-fire against-the-clock format. No slides, just a punchy, lively, fast-paced idea. AND Meet some of the key decision-makers in health-tech for a relaxed and open Ask Me Anything session.

Join a moderated discussion led by an expert. Topics include ‘Integrating medtech: real-world lessons, challenges and “hacks”‘, ‘How not to fail as a startup working with the health system’, and ‘Trends and innovations in fem-tech’.

Participants had a choice of 40-minute workshops to participate in, led by VOYAGERS with specialist skills to share.

Participants enjoyed a wide range of entertainment and continued networking until later in the evening.

All-day activities

Tours around Harwell Campus led by the people that know it best.

High-fidelity organ models, headbands for menstrual pain and mood relief, cold plunges, and more.

Participants brought a book that has inspired them; they then took away a book that inspired a fellow festival-goer.

An evening of music performances – including Senegalese drumming, acoustic and DJ sets, and the VOYAGERS Festival Band.

Displays by artists exploring health themes.

THE FIX is all about making magical connections. We curated meetings we thought you’d find valuable.

One-on-one meetings between founders, investors, regulators and more.

Women’s health tent

Introducing the programme for the day and the key theme: the information gap.

FemTech is transforming women’s health. What will define the next wave of innovations as the sector matures, scales, and integrates more deeply into mainstream medicine? We talked to innovators at different points of their own femtech journey.

Exploring how emerging research  and patient centered approach can transform C-sections from reactive surgery into proactive, holistic care.

Women’s health has entered its data-driven age. From menstrual apps to genomic platforms, we dived into the new ways to look into female wellness and health and how it impacts patients’ care.

A conversation about how healthcare and health-tech have historically overlooked women’s needs, and how we can build more inclusive, human-centered solutions going forward. We discussed practical ways to design better products, services, and systems that truly serve women.

As society’s relationship with family-building evolves, the latest scientific breakthroughs, diagnostic tools and therapeutics are poised to completely redesign the field of fertility. Participants joined Jordan Abdi, Co-founder of U-Ploid Biotechnologies, for an exploration of what the world of fertility could look like in 2050.

Led by MUTU System, rooted in science, and delivered with laughs and beats, pelvic floor health is about way more than squeezing. This functional, no-BS session combined movement and real-talk education to help you understand how your whole-body core system supports everything down there. It’s everything your vagina wishes you knew.

Reimagining ageing for women through fresh perspectives and cutting-edge solutions.

Looking at the future of female health and sharing takeaways from the day.
